USB BROCKEN
I left my USB at home today in the computer (Tuesday 6/10/10). And mum accidently knocked the computer (the actual one with the USB port) over. My USB was in it. So now it is brocken: scrached and bent. All my information (reserach and all) was on this USB port. Due to doing my project in many computers (at home, at school, ect.), I almost found it pointless to keep saving my project on all the computers I went to because it (my project) was changing and being moterfied so often. However, now I greatly regret that I did not save the project every time I did it. Everytime that I moterfied it on every computer. But now it's too late- a lot of the information would have been lost. I have not yet checked on other computers how much of my WISE I have saved. I did quite a lot of work on it in the holidays- each time on a different computer and made many changes, adding a lot of information and completed a lot of the project.
This has happened before in the past- where I have not saved my things on compueters (just on USB's). On my History Assignment this year something went wrong with my USB (It may have gone through the wash and brocken). It contained my History Assignment. And it was due the next day. However this was not too bad becasue I had handed in a draft and so just re-typed the whole assignement.
I generally save documents on both sources, in the early stages of assignment and then tend to chop and change my work so much that I only tend to save it on the USB.
I think this is a sign. A Lesson that god is tellling me. Trying to make me remember it so that I don't forget it. ever. AND hopefully learn from my mistakes and save documents on many sources and devices and all the time. Well I don't think I will forget this.
The only bring thing I can get out of this, the only bringht side I can see in making this situation better, is thank god I'm not in grade 12.
So what will I do next? I will look on my school account to see if I have saved the project and my computer at home (my laptop and the home compugter. I will also ask mum to ring our IT consoltant to see if he can retrive my USB. And if all fails? I guess I will just have to start from scratch. It's due on Friday. OMG!!! :S

Kate, I am sorry it has become so stressful for you but I tend to agree that this might be a sign that you should not just rely on the USB!
My suggestion for future assignments etc is to always e-mail the document to yourself each time you modify - this is what I do for my uni assignments as I don't want to have to start from scratch again if something happens.
I hope the majority of the document turns up somewhere else for you.
Miss Leeson.
